This month will combine a more fluid astrological atmosphere with the anchoring of outer planet transits that will define major themes until late Q2 2025.

Early September sees Mars entering Cancer, where it will remain for most of the next six months, with a side-mission in Leo. This extended stay is due to Mars’ retrograde station in December, a cycle we will closely examine as we move into the final quarter of 2024.

For many of us, we have had to make a difficult decision in some area of our life leading into the last half of August. Mars’ journey through Gemini highlighted the themes represented by The Lovers tarot card—often depicted as a lover having to choose between potential mates. This theme was intensified and perhaps somewhat exacerbated by a square with Saturn, while Jupiter’s influence expanded our options even further.

In many ways, The Lovers card and Gemini are embodied by the biblical story of Cain and Abel, especially in the final decan of Gemini, which corresponds to the Ten of Swords. This symbolism presents a scenario where one choice must be sacrificed for the other, allowing us to move forward with clarity into the first decan of Cancer, represented by the Two of Cups. Here, we can fully commit to new relationships, whether personal, professional, or related to significant decisions like choosing a home or vacation destination.

This theme of choice carries into September, potentially posing challenges as Mars squares Neptune while Mercury is retrograde. However, the first few days of the month may bring some last-minute clarity, cutting through the fog with Mercury stationed direct.

Venus and Mercury will spend much of the month in their home signs, making it easier to navigate areas of life that require both analytical thinking and charm. Venus, especially in Libra, will be ideally placed to bring beauty and abundance, improving relationships and making life’s pleasures more accessible, though the influence of the South Node in early Libra may temper these gifts slightly. We may not fully appreciate Venus‘ contributions until later in the month. Meanwhile, exalted Mercury in Virgo will help us sift through information and data, allowing us to focus on what’s truly useful as we move forward.

Meanwhile, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and aforementioned Mars will remain in their current zodiac positions until mid-2025. This configuration of the outer planets will bring both, homeostasis and a backdrop for significant changes as we approach next year, setting the stage for macro-historical shifts when most of the outer planets change signs within a few months of each other.

Astrology Transits of September

9/1 – Pluto retrograde re-enters Capricorn

9/2 – New Moon in Virgo (opposed Saturn in Pisces)

9/3 – Venus conjunct SN in Libra

9/4 – Mars enters Cancer

9/9 – Mercury (re)enters Virgo

9/15 – Grand Air Trine – Venus Libra / Jupiter Gemini / Moon Aquarius\\

9/17 – Full Moon Pisces (conjunct Saturn)

9/18 – Mercury opposed Saturn

9/23 – Venus enters Scorpio

9/23 – Sun enters Libra

9/25 – Moon conjunct Mars trine Saturn

9/25 – Mercury opposed Neptune

9/26 – Mercury enters Libra

Panoramic Homeostasis As we transition from the unsettled astrological influences of late last month, September brings a shift in tone.
