July 2025 Astrology Report

Uranus in Gemini, Mercury Reversals, and the Rebirth of Jupiter

The big news this month is that Uranus, the breaker of chains and bringer of future shocks, enters Gemini—a sign of speed, duality, and disruptive intelligence. Notably, Uranus was discovered while in Gemini, and history suggests this transit will be dynamic, chaotic, and technologically revolutionary. There is much to explore about this ingress, which lasts until 2032.

Uranus has been in the sign of Taurus since 2018, where it sought to dislodge the fixed foundations of life—currency, food systems, embodiment, and routines. It was not a natural home for Uranus, who prefers acceleration over inertia. In Taurus, Uranus had to break through solid earth and entrenched values, disrupting what was once thought immovable. But as it crosses into Gemini, the lightning flash of innovation, individualism, and disruption now flows rapidly across the skies.

Venus, ruling the earthy realm of Taurus, remains in her domicile as Uranus makes its final exit. On July 4th—Independence Day in the US—Venus will offer a parting embrace to the Promethean one, as if blessing the wild reformer on his way. Just an hour later, she too enters Gemini, becoming the herald of Uranus’s ingress into the sign on July 7th.

On that same day, Neptune stations retrograde, bringing a suspended breath from the imaginal realms, as if the cosmos pauses to anticipate the shockwaves that so often accompany a slow-moving outer planet’s first steps into new territory.

Venus trines Pluto on July 6th, as she begins her airy journey through Gemini. This aspect illuminates the long-standing trine between Gemini and Aquarius, where Pluto grips the levers of concealed power—governing backroom dealings, psychological operations, and subterranean influence on collective systems.

Uranus now joins the larger air-sign alignment, taking his place alongside Saturn and Neptune (who continue their sextile from Aries). This isn’t a tension so much as a synchronization of influence, where technologies of communication, ideology, and control may align seamlessly—even ominously—beneath the surface of public awareness.

On July 10th, we experience a Full Moon in Capricorn, a tense lunation ruled by Saturn just as he prepares to station retrograde the following day. The frailty and combustion of Saturn in Aries—where the structures of the past crack under the weight of impulsive force—may become especially visible. Expect themes of leadership accountability, institutional decay, or violent overreach to bubble to the surface. The larger trine/sextile structure between Uranus and Venus, Saturn and Neptune, and Pluto adds further pressure, shaping unsettled visions of the future.

Mid-month, a softer mood arrives. One of the blessings of Jupiter’s yearlong stay in Cancer is that every planetary visit to water signs now harmonizes with the Greater Benefic in his exaltation. On July 14th, we see the Moon in early Pisces form a sublime trine to Jupiter, offering a window for ritual immersion, dreaming, and emotional renewal. A beautiful day to literally or symbolically connect with water for healing.

Then, on July 15th, Jupiter makes his heliacal rising—his phasis, or first appearance, after weeks of being under the beams of the Sun. This is a moment of renewal and strength. Jupiter, having undergone his transformation in the heart of the Sun, now emerges into the visible sky, signaling a rebirth of blessings, wisdom, and growth. Pay attention to what begins now, particularly in the houses ruled by Sagittarius, Pisces, and of course Cancer in your chart. This marks the beginning of a powerful new chapter for Jupiterian themes.

On July 17th, Mercury stations retrograde at 15° Leo, initiating a review process in the realm of leadership, power, and communication. Information itself may become hostage to the agendas of the powerful. Expect opacity, media distortion, and rhetorical sleight of hand—especially around topics like warfare, diplomacy, and executive action.

When the Sun enters Leo on July 22nd, he reclaims his throne and brings clarity to some of Mercury’s murky narratives. The Leo Sun forms a stabilizing trine to Saturn and Neptune, suggesting that leaders with vision and restraint may find solid footing. But Pluto in Aquarius opposes the Sun, demanding reckoning and reform.

Who does the crown truly serve? Are we witnessing wise governance—or the codification of control?

These tensions carry through to the New Moon in Leo on July 24th, which casts a spotlight on leadership, propaganda, and collective will. With Mercury retrograde and Neptune’s influence strong, we may see the power of media and myth used to shape mass opinion in subtle or overt ways.

We close the month on July 31st, as Venus enters Cancer, a sign where she has triplicity dignity. While this should be a lush and nourishing placement, she first must square Saturn and Neptune, confronting limits, illusions, and grief. Venus may respond by turning inward, reaching for art, care, and somatic intelligence as tools for metabolizing discomfort. In August, as she approaches a conjunction with Jupiter, we can expect her full blessings to finally emerge—a meeting of the two benefics in signs of strength.
